What is the method for the test?
Perform warm up, then lie on a mat with knees bent and feet flat on the mat. Fold your arms and complete as many sit-ups as possible in 1 minute
What component of fitness is measured?
Muscular endurance (abdominals)
What is the units of measurements?
Reps/minute
What are the advantages of the sit up test?
Quick and easy, No specialised equipment
What are the disadvantages of the sit up test?
Human error counting the amount of sit ups, Not suitable for everyone (injuries etc)
What could affect the reliability of the test?
Could be influenced by the type of warm up that is carried out beforehand
What could affect the validity of the test?
Only measures muscular endurance in abdominals and not muscular endurance in other parts of the body
