Q

harshness of TOV

A
  • naval blockade was still in force & Allies were in Rhineland, ready to invade
  • seizure of industrial lands & loss of colonies made it harder to pay reparations
  • many Germans lived under Allied occupation or forced to live in other countries
  • most Germans disapproved of the treaty & the govt lost support because of it
  • creation of new, smaller states in Central Europe meant Germany was still strongest power there (& could soon recover)
