Q

Unique Characteristics of Water (3)

A
  1. High heat capacity - result of H-bonds, can absorb lots of heat energy with min. temp change
  2. High specific heat of vaporization- lots of energy needed to convert water from liquid to gas
  3. Ice is less dense that liquid water - due to crystal formation and fewer formations of H-bonds, ice densest at 4 degrees Celsius
