Why is adequate lighting required?

The inboard ship, not the jetty.
What are DRP’s?
Diver Recovery Position. It is a horse collar on a rope which is to be lowered into the water and fastened around a person by the diver and pull them up.

5 ft forward, 5ft aft

Forward or aft of safety net, depending where is most dangerous
Where is it particularly important to illuminate at the brow?
Surface of the water between the ship and the jetty.
Why is it important to know the tides for brow safety?
May need to adjust the brow as tides change.
