Where can you find the MSDS sheets for each of the spaces?
MSDS Sheets are located in a red box on the door of the space in which the chemicals are located in. A copy can also be found in the CSE office. Hazmat pre-plans are also in the red boxes, and a binder is located in the locker in the ASB.
What are the three main materials of concern in relation to hazmat?
Isopar-M – Towed Array Equipment Room
Lead-Acid Batteries – Shincom Equipment Room/CCR/EWER
Otto Fuel II – Port/Stbd Torpedo Magazines
What space onboard contains ISOPAR-M?
ISOPAR-M is located in the Towed Array Equipment Room within the individual modules of the CANTASS. There is a ventilation crash stop for the fan mounted in the AFT STBD corner, plus there is a dry pipe hookup into the space from the lobby outside.
What spaces onboard contain Otto Fuel II?
Otto Fuel II is in the Mk46 Light Torpedoes that are stowed in the PORT and STBD Torpedo Magazines. There are scuppers that must be isolated to prevent the Otto Fuel from leaving the ship.
What spaces onboard contain Lead Acid?
Shincom Equipment Room (SER), Communications Control Room (CCR), and Electronics Warfare Equipment Room (EWER). There are no fittings within the spaces, but the batteries can be turned off/isolated.

What do you do if line 5 becomes extremely slack before a storm?
Line 5 is keeping us from moving aft. Can muster the DW to heave in on 5, or call adjacent ships if all lines are a problem. You’d want this fixed before the storm hits.
How do you deal with a RHIB that runs aground and becomes unserviceable?
If there is a boat in the water, send it to help get personnel out of the RHIB.
Use the second RHIB to tow the first back (if possible) or leave it on the rocks if not.
Assess RHIB passengers as casualties and get medical help as required.
Get statements from all involved about the entire event.
What preparations need to be made for a SUBSAR tasking?
Call XO, get permission to recall ship’s company

NAVORD 2100-1, Naval FP SOP, 5- general global threat, 4- increased global threat, 3- increased more predictable global threat, 2- Some kind of hostile act is imminent, 1- hostile act is made.
Explain ship recall procedures.
Hoist flag Papa, make informative pipe, I will call HODS, DCXN will call CHODs, who will in turn call their departments. Departments will report back.
Define Command Charge and Control.
Charge- the responsibility vested in the CO for the proper and safe movements and operation of the ship and her company. Command- The authority vested in the CO for the direction coordination and control of the ship and her company. Control- refers to three aspects of control of the ship which may be delegated by the CO.
