-Guards were given a complete uniform which involved a wooden club, keys, handcuffs and shades

-Guards were told they had complete authority over prisoners. for example, Deciding weather or not they could go to the toilet or not
What role did Zimbardo play in the study
-He played the role as superintendent

-16 which was heavily regulated by guards, they were also only called their uniform number, not their actual name
