Congenital Zika syndrome
Severe microcephalic
Decreased brain tissue with a specific pattern of brain damage
Damage to the back of the eye
Joints w/ limited ROM, (club foot)
Too much muscle tone, restricting body movement soon after birth
Testing (if symptomatic and hx travel w/in last 2/552 or sexual exposure
Serum/urine PCR w/in 7 days onset of symptoms
IgM less reliable due to cross reactivity

Arbovirus of flavivirdae family
Single stranded RNA virus
Incubation period
3-14 days
Virus detection length
Up to 188 days in semen after illness onset
First trimester exposure risk of abnormality
6-13%
