What is generational poverty?
When poverty has become a pattern for at least 2 generations
What is absolute poverty?
An individual or family who does not earn enough money to meet the basic needs of life such as food, clothing and shelter
What is digital poverty?
The inability to interact with the online world fully when, where and how an individual needs to.
What is fuel poverty?
Don’t have the financial ability to afford heat, fuel etc.
Groups that are discriminated against:
Women
Disabled
Homosexuals
People of a different race
Older people

Right to life
Right to education
Right to work

How does Stop Hate UK support those who are discriminated?
They raise awareness to make people feel apart of a community.
They educate people on how to respond to people hate criming them.
Explain the difference between prejudice and discrimination:
Prejudice is an opinion or thought, that is kept to yourself. Whereas discrimination is an action or behaviour that is expressed outwardly.
How are disabled people discriminated against? (Give examples)
Being disabled can affect getting jobs. People may seem them as less able than people without disabilities, this is called ableism.
How are people of a different ethnicity discriminated against? (Give examples)
People may treat them differently as the colour of their skin is different. This can also affect them getting jobs.
How are women discriminated against?
Women are payed less than men, meaning even if they are doing the exact same job, men will get paid more for the same hours.
How are homosexuals discriminated against?
Homosexuals can sometimes face family rejection from their families due to religious beliefs. This can sometimes lead to mental health issues and homelessness for young people who are “unowned” from their family.
