Describe XYY syndrome (Jacob’s syndrome)

- human male has an extra Y chromosome (XYY instead of XY)
- 47 chromosome instead of usually 46
- not inheritable
- men are the ones to be able to randomly develop it
- development due to random mutation of the gene
- make males more aggressive ad lacking in empathy (super male syndrome)

- difficult to determine on who has it

what are the characteristics of XYY syndrome?

- speech problems
- slight lower intelligence
- 7cm taller than average height
- impulsivity
- defiant/aggressive behaviour
- lacking of empathy

occupational therapy: physical/sensory/cognitive problems such as barriers affecting a person emotional, social, physical needs –> uses everyday exercises, activities and other therapies alongside it
speech therapy
supportive treatment like having extra help in school, more attentive attention, having extra time in tests etc
