Wx if only GFA available at airport
- No cloud lower then 1000ft above lowest usable HAT/HAA
- No CB’s
- Vis 3sm or greater
BECMG
- If improving, end of period
- If deteriorating, beginning of period
- Not below published alt minima
TEMPO or INTER
Shall not be below alt minima
PROB
Shall not be below landing minima
Aerodrome level of service (ALS) - for departure
Prior to pushback or starting engines without pushback: Aerodrome operating visibility must be greater for equal to ALS or intended runway (10-10pages)
Aerodrome level of service (ALS) - for Taxi
Allowed if aerodrome operating visibility drops below ALS:
- after pushback commenced
- after taxi commenced during open ramp ops
- taxiing to or from de ice pad
- aircraft taxiing on maneuvering area for purpose other then takeoff or landing
Visibility hierarchy (active or non active tower)
Active ATC
1. RVR for intended runway
2. Ground vis
3. As determined by POC
No active tower
1. Any reported RVR
2. Metar
3. As determined by PIC
Take off Vis req (hierarchy)
- RVR at or above for intended runway
- Ground vis (if no RVR or RVR fluctuating or below mins due to localized phenomena
- As determined by PIC (only when no RVR or ground vis)
Take off alt req
- Wx less then RVR 2600 or 1/2sm
- Wx below landing minima (CATII/III minima cannot be used), take off alt must meet alternate mimits
- Can use GNSS app only as long as FOM req met
Low vis take off ident
Below 2600or 1/2sm crews shall visually ident runway marker or precise electronic means (loc, PBN based RUNWAY CENTRELINE, aircraft surface movements system)
No intersection with reduced vis ops unless standard practice for that runway
