TEM is what?
Handling of expected (proactive) and unexpected (reactive) threats
A threat is:
Event, condition, or errors that are outside the influence of the crew.
Expected threats:
Weather, terrain, MEL’s, runway conditions, etc
Unexpected threats:
Malfunctions, passenger events, security events, fatigue, complacency
Environmental threats:
Weather, atc, airports, terrain
Operational threats
Ops pressure, aircraft, cabin, maintenance, ground, dispatch, documentation
Errors are defined as:
Crew actions or inactions that lead to deviations from crew or organizational intentions or expectations, reduce safety margins, and increase probability of adverse operational events
