Zimmerman Note

A

Telegram sent by Germans to encourage a Mexican attack against the United States. Intercepted by the US in 1917. In exchange for the attack,Germans promised to give Mexico back the states of Texas, AZ & NM. Drew USA into WWI.

Treaty of Versailles

A

Treaty signed by Germany to hold Germany solely to blame for the WWI.
The treaty 1)stripped Germany of all Army, Navy, Air-force. 2) Germany had to pay for all war damages 3) Germany had to acknowledge guilt for causing WWI (Guilt Clause) 4) Germany could not manufacture any weapons.

The large-scale movement of blacks from South to Northern cities seeking jobs & a better life - there was a shortage of workers (with many men drafted to fight in WWI).

What gains were made by women in WWI?

A

Increase support for their right to vote & got jobs outside the home. WWI created a loss of workers. Some example of jobs were store clerks or factory workers.

A

Was a global war centered in Europe that began in 1914 and lasted until 1918.

(The war drew in all the world’s economic great powers, which were assembled in two opposing alliances: the Allies (based on the Triple Entente of the United Kingdom, France and the Russian Empire) and the Central Powers of Germany and Austria-Hungary.)
