WS4: Comparing Research Strategies, Critical Thinking, & Cronbach's Alpha Flashcards
0
Q
Cronbach’s Alpha
A
- internal reliability: assesses internal consistency of test items
- examines inter-correlations b/w test items
- if items reliably assessing the same construct them they should inter correlate
- higher Cronbach’s alpha = higher inter correlation among test items
- reporting Cronbach’s alpha
- .7 adequate, .8 good, .9 excellent

Q
Rumsey et al Method
A
- what was the sample? What are the implications for generalisability?
- how were OD attitudes assessed?
- how was ‘religiosity’ defined & operationalised?
- is there any overlap b/w the OD attitude scale & religiosity?
- were any control measures (e.g. counter-balancing test presentation) applied & should they have been?
- what type of research strategy is being employed? (Corr, exp, mixed)
- is the design appropriate for answering the RQ’s?
