What is Dupuytrens contracture?
A
- progressive thickening and shortening of the fascia in the palm that causes permanent bending of the fingers

What is Dequervain’s disease?
A
Tendon’s on the thumb side of the wrist become inflamed causing swelling and tenderness when moving the thumb

What test assesses for a scaphoid FX?
A
- axial load test

What is the fovea sign?
A
- assess foveal and ulnotrquetral integrity
- flex elbow to 90, forearm and wrist in neutral
- apply pressure to conjuction of pisiform and ulnar styloid

What does phalen and reverse phalen test for?
A
carpal tunnel syndrome

What are the 4 tests for carpal tunnel syndrome?
A
phalen, reverse phalen, tinel sign, carpal compression

What is the froment sign? what does it test for?
A
- client holds paper with thumb and PT tries to tug it away
- assess for ADD pollicis weakness (T1 innervation)

What is murphy’s test?
A
- looks for lunate discloation based on level of 3rd MCP when making a fist

What is the wartenberg test?
A
- assesses for ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow
- resist 5th digit add

What is the allen test for the hand?
A
- looks for occlusion of radial or ulnar artery by compressing arteries and watching return of coloration
