What is shoulder hand syndrome?
Adhesive capsulitis from a colles fracture. No known cause
What is the name of the fracture from falling on a flexed and pronated wrist?
Smiths fracture
What will smiths fracture show o/e?
Ventral displaced wrist
What is Barton’s fracture caused by?
Falling on an extended and pronated wrist
What does barton’s fracture also cause?
Dislocation of the radioulnar joint
What other injury can a FOOSH cause?
Scaphoid fracture
What is the big complication of a scaphoid fracture?
Avascular necrosis
Where is the most commonly fractured area of the scaphoid?
The “waist” (midline)
What injury increases the risk of avascular necrosis
More proximal down the bone
What sign can be used to test for scaphoid fracture?
Pain when telescoping the thumb
