What are the CA’s role and responsibilities?
To administer the contract. Issuing of CAI’s, Payment Certificates, ensure works are carried out in compliance with the contract.
How did you monitor progress against programme?
Dropline on the programme to see how progressed tasks should be.
Why is a site visit report important and what would you typically record?
It is important to record progress on site, any defects identified etc.
How would you tell whether the contractor had used the correct materials on site?
Check materials match those specified. Check data sheets held on site.
What is used to control quality in a specification of works?
Common Arrangement of Work Sections (CAWS)
What would you do if you suspected the contractor had not undertaken the work correctly/used the wrong materials?
Investigate. You could issue a CAI to correct the works.
Talk me through your understanding of a critical path?
The critical path is the sequence of tasks that must be completed on time for the project to be completed within the specified time frame
Where would you find quality information in contract documents?
Specifications / Works sections /Section 2 JCT IBC
What information was contained in your progress reports?

Describe the process that a project team would take on the approach to handover. What processes would be put in place? What tools might be used?
Snagging would be undertaken. Agreement of the O&Ms. Utilise snagging software like siteaudit pro.
Describe how requests for information, site queries and change control procedure were managed on a recent project.
RFI tracker and change control trackers were implimented. These were held centrally on a sharefile. Changes required authorisation from the CA.
On the Meadows, you mention a long stop date. Can you explain how this affected the level of progress required on site?
Sets the date in which the conditions must be met for the lease, in this case completion of the landlord works.
Describe the skirting board joint issue please?
The specification set out the skiting boards needed mitered joints but some on site werent. Skirting boards were removed and replaced with those correctly jointed.
How did the agreed client benchamark interact with legal requirements for the IQ fire doors?
The clients agreed benchmark was in complience with the door manufacturers specification, BS 8214: Code of practice for fire door assemblies and Part B
How did you determine how additional instructions would impact works progress?
Works were assessed against the agreed programme critical path
