A model that illustrates the full range of health between the extremes of illness and wellness.
Culture
Beliefs and patterns of behavior that are shared by a group of people and passed on from generation to generation.
Disability
Any physical or mental impairment that limits or reduces a person’s ability to participate in normal activities.
Quality of life
The degree of overall satisfaction that a person gets from their life.
Risk factor
Any action or condition that increases the likelihood of injury, disease, or other negative outcome.
Continuum
A gradual progression through many stages between one extreme and another.
Values
The standards and beliefs that are very important to you.
Wellness
The overall view of health as a combination of metal, physical, and social well-being.
Prevention
The practice of healthy behaviors to keep a person free of disease and other health problems.
