What are the predominant cell types in wound healing at days 1-2, 3-4, and >5. What do these cells do?
A
1-2: PMNs–cause inflammatory response, defend against infection
3-4: Macrophages–stimulate fibroblasts, release growth factors and cytokines
5: fibroblasts- replace fibronectin-fibrin with collagen
