Evidence for the working memory model has been shown in real life case studies shallice and Warrington studied a patient who had suffered brain damage had poor short-term memory ability for sounds however he could process visual information and could recall letters and digits this supports the working memory model as his visual spatial sketchpad was fine however his phonological loop was damaged this shows the visual spatial sketchpad and phonological loop are two distinct and separate stores with different roles a problem with this case is the experiment of could become bias of the participant and the results would become incorrect and similar symptoms may be there for everybody
