What is Work Done?
Work done by a constant force is given by the
product of the displacement and the force that
is parallel to the displacement

When is no work done?
Direction of applied force and direction in which object moves are perpendicular
Force is applied but object does not move
What is Power?
Defined as rate of doing work/rate of energy converted
What is Efficiency?
Defined as the ratio of useful energy/power output to the energy/power input
What is Energy?
Defined as the capacity of a body to do work
What is the Principle of Conservation of Energy?
Energy can neither be created nor destroyed
Energy can be converted from one form to another or transferred from one body to another
The total amount of energy remains constant
What is Kinetic Energy?
Energy a body possesses due to its movement

KE= 1/2 mv²
What is Potential Energy?
Energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position/condition
What is Gravitational Potential Energy?
Energy possessed due to position relative to the centre of the earth

What is Mechanical Energy?
Energy possessed by objects due to motion/position
Can be either kinetic energy or potential energy
