Q

What does Doherty argue?

A

He is a postmodernist who came up with the end of work thesis. This said that work has lost its central place in peoples lives. This is because: the rise of alienation due to the deskilling of work, little job satisfaction, work becoming insecure due to the rise in the different types of contracts, migrant workers and the fact that companies can pay for cheaper labour in different countries.
