4 Different Noun Types
Concrete noun- Something you can touch
Abstract noun- Something you can’t e.g. a feeling
Proper nouns- names of something e.g. Harry Potter
Collective nouns- a group of nouns
Verbs and the different types
Active verb- A physical process
Stative verb- An emotional process
Auxiliary verb- ‘to be’ or ‘to have’ goes with another verb e.g. ‘I am going’
The Types of adjectives
Determiners- This, That, Hers, His, Theirs
Distributive- each, every, either, neither
Interrogative- Which? What?
Numerical- one, two, three
indefinite- all, many, several
Qualitative- male, English, fat
Adverb types
They modify or describe a word class apart from nouns/pronouns but mainly verbs they can also describe adjectives e.g. 'fairly cheap' and prepositions Adverbs of time- now, then, soon Adverbs of place- here, there Adverbs of manner- slowly, shiftily Adverbs of degree- very, fairly Adverbs of number- once, twice Adverbs of certainty- surely, probably Interrogative adverb- How? When?

Co-ordinating- and, but
Sub-ordinating- because, although, until
Pronoun types
They replace nouns Personal- she, he, they, we, us Demonstrative- this, that, these Indefinite- groups non-specific things; e.g. All of us will complete it Interrogative: who, what, why Reflexive- utilizes a suffix- yourself Emphatic- when a reflexive refers back tot the noun or pronouns Possessive; mine, his, ours

Create a spatial place: behind, around, above
