Kept family business going, tram drivers and welders, ticket collectors and munitions workers, worked on land: milking and ploughing, foresting and harvesting.

A
They did all this to keep the men at the front supplied and keep their homes running, to get food on the table, keep a roof over their heads and clothes on the backs of their children.
