What were the women doing?
They were protesting against the Parliamentary proceedings regarding the conciliation bill.
Who was involved?
The suffragettes and the police.
What is the conciliation bill?
This would extend the right of women to vote in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to around 1 million wealthy, property owning women.
What happened?
300 women that was sent from the WSPU were met with the double amount of police outside Houses of Parliament. The police used violence against the women such as abusing them, hitting them etc. eventually they were taken to court and prosecuted.
Where did it take place?
It took place outside the Houses of Parliament.
When did it take place?
