When did she join the WSPU?
Emily joined WSPU in 1906. She became more and more involved in the WSPU activities in June 1908 and was one of the chief stewards at the WSPU demonstration in London. She gave up full-time teaching and also became involved with the Workers Education Association. She was jailed on 9 occasions and force-fed 49 times. When she was released she began working full time for the WSPU and contributed articles and reviews to the newspaper, Votes for Women.
What is it?
It is the most famous horse racing history. It was a very socially important event
What was Davidson trying to do?
She’s trying to attach a delicate suffragette scarf onto the horse as it crossed the finishing line, winning.
What happened to her?
She didn’t die immediately that she was in a coma and suffered terrible injuries but she died four days later.
