Q

Framingham heart study

A

Goal was to find factors that could be altered to reduce peoples risk of CVD in 1950s

Prospective longitudinal study:
- Took very large population
- Collected data potentially related to CVD
- Monitored people over time and see when they get CVD
- Check CVD people with their specific factors at time zero to see if there’s correlation

Found that higher blood pressure was related to CVD
