Why should you avoid operating the thrust reversers during taxi on wet or contaminated surfaces?
To prevent wing contamination from reverse jet blast.
When must you select the wing anti-ice system ON for t/o?
OAT is 5’C or below and:
- visible moisture below 400’ AGL, or
- wet or contaminated rwy, or
- in the presence of any precip
What else must be selected ON if the wing anti-ice is selected ON for t/o?
Cowl anti-ice system ON.
When do you select wing anti-ice system ON after applying Type 2, 3, or 4 fluids?
Just prior to thrust increase on t/o
When must the wing anti-ice system be ON?
- When ICE annunciated by ice detection system, or
- In icing conditions AND less than 230 KIAS
Icing Conditions:
TAT of 10’C or below AND visible moisture present, except when SAT is -40’C or below
