What other wine/style of wine would you describe Cava as being similar to?
Champagne. Although it is made from different grapes than Champagne, the wine is made in “traditional method” for sparkling wines, with a second fermentation taking place in the bottle. It is very dry, fresh and complex.
What other wine/style of wine would you describe the Sparkling Xinomavro Rose as being similar to?
Rose Champagne. It mostly reminds me of a Champagne made from Pinot Meunier, a soft and plesant grape with a straitforward fruitiness and excellent acidity. The Xinomavro (the black grape used to make this wine), adds some structure to the wine, being a tannic and full bodied red grape- making a long lingering bubbly wine with an excellent finish.
What other wine/style of wine would you describe the Roditis as being similar to?
Chablis, Muscadet, Pinot Grigio or Aligote. This is excellent mineral driven wine, for people looking for a wine that ‘is not fruity’. It is a good replacement for unoaked white wines done in a minimalistic style, light, fresh and crisp, moderately aromatic with aromas of crushed herbs and oyster shells.
What other wine/style of wine would you describe the Assyrtiko as being similar to?
Semi-aromatic whites, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Albarino or Pinot Grigio. The wine is not quite as bright and aromatic as Sauvignon Blanc, and not as bitter as Pinot Grigio, but has just barely ripe peachy notes, salinity, and hints of white flowers.
How would you describe our Chardonnay BTG?
Clean and round with lemon, apple pear notes without being too buttery or oaky. It has the weight of California Chardonnay without the flabbiness you sometimes encounter.
What other wine/style of wine would you describe the Zafeirikas Limniona Rose as being similar to?
Provence Rose
How would you describe our Pinot Noir BTG?
Macedon Pinot Noir is from the country of Macedonia. It is light and cheerful, with sage and cherry aromas and a perfume of desert herbs. For people who like light-bodied Pinot Noirs.
What other wine/style of wine would you describe the Xinomavro as being similar to?
Italian Nebbiolo from Piemonte. High altitude and arid, the Xinomavro grape grows in an environment suited to producing thin-skinned varieties. Bright tart cherry, tobacco, leather, spice and lavender notes are carried on the frame of the vessel, lending itself to the more delicate flavors of orange peel, truffle and smoke - All characteristics that Nebbiolo shares.
How would you describe our Cabernet Sauvignon BTG?
A classic California Cabernet Sauvignon, a big wine with dense ripe fruit, a potpourri of red and purple floral aromas, graphite, and sweet baking spices. This wine has a fair amount of new French oak on it, and comes from the Alexander Valley in Sonoma - One valley over from the famed Napa Valley of Napa County.
How would you describe the Liatiko dessert wine btg?
Like a tawny port or aged Banyuls, this is made from late harvest red grapes that are then pressed as raisins. The color is bricking red, due to the age of the wine, and the flavors are that of dried figs and candied tangerines, with a black walnut finish.
