Why we should vote
P- Many people around the world are denied the right to vote
E- People around the world are not able to vote at all or are not able to vote in fair elections with a choice of parties
E- In china people can only vote at village and local level and not for the national peoples congress and the president
P- Women where denied this right in the past
E- Some women fought and died for the women to get a right to vote. Therefore some women feel it is morally wrong for them not to vote as these women would have died in vain
E- Emily Davidson a suffragette threw herself in front of a George Vs horse in support of women getting the right to vote
Why do some people not vote?
P- They dont identify with one of the main political parties
E-They view the party policies as being very similar. This may have contributed to around one in three people chosing not to vote
E- In 2017 both Labour and Conservatives pledge to build one million homes
P- They live in a safe seat
E- This means that the same party is likely to win every election therefore if a person supports a different party they may not see the point in voting
E- In the 2019 election labour had a majority over 25000 un the halton constituency but the turnout was 51%
