Answer 1

Climate- when it is too hot or too cold or there is a sufficient amount of rainfall.

Resources- such as gold in Gauteng, diamonds in the Northern Cape and coal in Mpumalanga.

Laws- During apartheid there where segregation laws that certain races were forced to live in certain areas.

Vegetation- where there is natural vegetation such as forests, as timber from the trees can be used for fuel and building materials.

Human Activity- People settle where there are opportunities to make a living, such as farming, mining or jobs.

Natural Features- such as harbours for trade and transport, rivers for water, mountains for protection (look at the dense population density of Cape Town and Durban).

3. Plenty of jobs available.
