A

Mild coryzal symptoms, low grade fever, cough that is more severe after 1 week, paroxysmal cough, loud inspiratory whoop, apnoea

Characteristic cough in whooping cough

A

Mild dry cough which is worse after a week, sudden attacks of coughing which makes a loud whooping sound as child is unable to take air in, child can faint, vomit or even develop pneumothorax from coughing fits
