Where are the major industrial belt found
They are found in mid-latitudes of the northern hemisphere. They form discontinuous industrial belts that spread across Europe, East Asia and North America
Europe
The United Kingdom is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.
Industrialisation then spread to other parts of Europe. Booming manufacturing activities had led to the growth of industrial centres in Germany and France.
Russia is the main industrial nation in Eastern Europe. Industries expanded
gradually from St. Petersburg to the Central part of Russia.
East Asia
In Japan, manufacturing activities are concentrated on the Kanto Plain where Tokyo is located.
In Korea, industrial centres are found in large cities such as Seoul and Busan.
In China, the Three Northeast Provinces (Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning) and the Beijing-Tianjin Region are traditional steel-making centres.
North America
The Great Lakes Region at the border between northeast USA and Canada is a famous centre of car-making, steel-making and shipbuilding industries
