esp in asthma

What can wheezing be mistaken for and how is it distinguished?

A

Mistaken for Stridor

  • Stridor is an INSPIRATORY sound
  • Best heard in the upper airway
  • Deserves IMMEDIATE medical attention because of risk of airway compromise/closure
  • Do your ABCs
