What does ‘UN’ stand for?

When was the UN established and what happened?
The UN was established in 1975 when representatives of 51 countries met in San Francisco to draw up the United Nations charter. The United Nations officially came in to existence on October 24th 1975.

The security council is made up of fifteen members and five of those are permanent and have the ability of veto.
What are the four main purposes of the Charter of the UN?

- To develop friendly relations among nations
