What is violent crime?
Violence against the person; this can be a range from murder, manslaughter or knife attack to common assault.
What is hate crime?
Any criminal offence that is perceived by the victim or any person to be motivated
What is sexual offences and intimate personal violence?
These are recorded in to two groups
a. rape
b. other sexual offences
What is robbery?
An offence in which force or the threat of force is used either during or immediately prior to theft or attempted robbery.
What are theft offences?
These involve burglary, offences against vehicle owners, theft from the person, bicycle theft, shoplifting and all other theft offences.
What is criminal damage and arson?
Defined as international or malicious damage to the home, other property or vehicles.
What is fraud?
An act of deception intended for personal gain or to cause a loss to another party and includes things like using another persons credit card and internet and insurance deception.
What is antisocial behaviour?
Includes nuisance, rowdy, inconsiderate neighbours, vandalism, graffiti, fly posting and street drinking.
What is environmental damage?
Includes littering, dumping of rubbish and abandonment of cars, prostitution-related activity, begging and vagrancy, misuse of fireworks, inconsiderate or inappropriate use of vehicles.
What are other crimes?
Includes drug offences, possession of weapons and public order crimes.
