Separation of Powers is the principle that provides a set of checks and balances to ensure that no single body has the power to make, implement, apply and interpret the law.

Is the power to make laws which resides with the Parliament. This is led by the party that has the majority of seats in the Parliament (Executive)

Is the power (authority) given to the courts and tribunals to interpret and enforce the law and settle disputes.
