A

Strengths of the study /theory
Weakness of the study /theory
Conflicting research findings
Improvements made to the theory or a better theory
RWA- real world application (how it can be used in real life e.g police)

Define Validity

A

How true or legitimate a theory is
Can be generalised to three parts :
-all types of people e.g. males and females (population validity)
-to other situations especially everyday situations (ecological validity)
-does the research test what it’s suppose to be looking at (internal validity)

Define representation

A

Whether or not the study has a large sample (100 Pps)
If it does we can say it can be generalised to the wider population

Define reliability

A

Whether or not the study can be repeated .can we follow the method and carry out the study again ?
The replication should produce the same or similar results

Define ethical issues

A

Set by the BPS (British psychological society) and are rules all psychologists must follow as far as possible or they must lose their job and title
E.g. Pps must give consent, right to withdraw , confidentiality and a right to not be deceived
