What is the scientific method and why is it important?
-Observations, Hypothesis, Predictions, hypothesis supported or rejected. The scientific method is important because the scientific method provides empirical data, because what you are observing and examining is testable.
What are the differences between scientific ways of knowing vs other knowledge systems and belief systems
- A scientific way of knowing a fact, a piece of information that is grounded in evidence, and solidified. A belief is an opinion or condition usually based on spiritual apprehension rather than empirical proof. Knowledge is unified way of knowing. The differences between them are scientific ways of knowing are based on empirical evidence and is distinct from knowledge systems and beliefs.
How do science and the idea of “World in the Lab and Lab in the World Relate”?
-Humans inevitably have their own belief systems place, which motivates scientific pursuit. The lab and the world are not separate from each other, the pressures from the outside world affect what is being done in the lab or not being done in the lab.
