What is collective identity?
The way that people define themselves in relation to others and the outside world.
What is a state?
an organized political community acting under a government
What is Sovereignty?
the power to self-govern - the power to control one’s own affairs - and defend oneself and one’s interests.
This included territorial integrity.
What is the difference between state, country, and country?
The nation is the people, the state is the governmental power, and the country is the geographic territory.
What is territorial integrity
What all sovereign states need to have.
This includes defined borders respected by neighbours and the right to defend that territory.

Refers to a place or territory. E.x. Kananaskis country
What is nationalism?
Is an ideology that wants to promote the interests of nationhood. The goal is to gain and maintain self-determination.
Why is self-determination different from sovereignty?

A sovereign political entity or state is ruled in the name of a community of citizens who identify themselves as a nation.

Nationalism is based on the belief in inheritance. of culture and identity
