What A Picture Flashcards
Non luminous sources
We see them because light bounces off them and into our eyes
How do shadows ocurr
They are made because light canny travel through some objects the light can’t bend around them either
What’s happens to lift when it hits an object
Many things can happen eg
Light will go through transparent materials
Some times we will only see a glow because it’s transparent
Opaque. Objects will cause a dark shadow
How do pinhole cameras work
Light goes through a little hole and forms an upside down image on a screen at the back of the camera
How do eyes work
Light rays go through the pupils tiny upside down image form at the retina your brain then allows you to see the image correctly
How do most things reflect light
By scattering light unevenly
How do smith things reflect light eg a mirror
They reflect it evenly
Incident Rays
The ray of light which goes to the mirror
Reflected Ray
The rat of light which comes from the mirror
Normal
A dashed line drawn at the angles to the mirror
Angle of incidence
Is angle between the incident Ray and the normal
Angle of reflection
Angle between reflected Ray and the normal
How can see luminous sources
Luminous sources create light we see them because light spreads out in all directions from a luminous source and some goes in our eyes
Light changes direction
When light travel from air to a material eg glass it changes direction towards the normal
When it travels out into the air it changes direction away from the normal
It happens because light travels more slowly in substances such as water then it does air
How does a lense work
———————-[]———————
Light Ray bends towards the normal as it go into the lends It bend away from the normal as it leaves the lense
