Clean
Athlete lifts barbell from the floor to the shoulders, implies full squat in bottom position
Snatch
Athletes lifts the barbell from the floor to the overhead position in a single motion, implies full squat in bottom position
Jerk
Athlete lifts the barbell from the shoulders in a standing position to overhead
Split jerk
Most common jerk variation for weightlifters. Lifter receives the jerk in a spit jerk position
Power (push) jerk
Received with the feet in a squat position and the lifter at partial squat depth
Squat jerk
Least common jerk variation. Athlete receives the jerk in full depth squat
Power snatch
Started from the floor but received overhead in a partial squat above parallel rather than a full squat
Power clean
Clean started from the floor but received on the shoulders
Hang snatch
Started with the bar in any position above the floor and received in a full squat position
Hang clean
Started with the bar in any position above the floor and received in a full squat position
