Allows for community involvement and feeling of inclusion
Urban design often excludes youth which isolates them.
Young people are often painted as threats to public space through move on powers, curfews, banning and zero tolerance for minor infringements
Alienation can lead to boredom resulting in drinking and take drugs and breaking the law
