Week One OIA Upper E Flashcards
Origin of Deltoid
lateral of the clavicle, acromian process, and spine (LAPS)
Insertion of Deltoid
deltoid tuberosity of humerus
Action of deltoid
abduction, anterior flexion, medial and lateral rotation and horizontal abduction and adduction, extension
Abduction, and Horizontal abd and adduction, flextion, lateral rotation, extension
Origin of latissimus
Spinous process of T7-T12, posterior iliac crest, 3-4 ribs, Inferior angle of scapula, and thoracolumbar aponeurosis
7-12 spines, 3-4 ribs, a posterior iliac crest with a floor of tubercular humerus.
Insertion for latissimus
intertubercular groove of humerus
Insertion - inter
Action of latissimus
shoulder extension and adduction and medially rotation (internal)
Add extension and medially rotation
Origin of trapezius
Occipital protuberance, C7-T12 spinous process, superior nuchal line
1-12 spines with an occipital bone
Insertion of trapezius
spine of scapula acromion process, lateral 1/3 of clavicle
Spine leads to the acromion process
Action of trapezius
extension, lateral flexion, rotate to opposite, elevate, up rotation and scapula adduction/depression/stabilization
Adds depression to the scapula, Lateral flextion to elevate up rotation
Origin of teres major
inferior angle of scapula, lower 1/3 lateral boarder of scapula.
Major = inferior and lateral
Insertion of teres major
crest of lesser tubercle
Major = lesser and medial
Action of teres major
shoulder extension, adduction and medially rotation
Add E to MR
