A

Address Resolution Protocol, is a dynamic mapping method that finds a physical address given a logical address. An ARP request is broadcast to all devices on the network. An ARP reply is unicast to the host requesting the mapping

The difference between ARP and RARP?

A

Two protocols have been designed to per- form dynamic mapping:
Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and Reverse Address Resolution Protocol (RARP).
ARP maps a logical address to a physical address;
RARP maps a physical address to a logical address.

A
