Q

Types of interviews:

A
  • Structured interviews – identical set of questions that will be read out and the answer written down (quantifiable data) (why not give questionnaire? People more receptable)
  • Semi-structured interviews – list of themes and key questions for discussion, answers recorded for later analysis (qualitative)
  • In-depth interviews – informal, exploratory interview used to explore in depth a general area, with no predetermined list of questions but rather an opportunity for the interviewee to talk freely. What themes emerge from data. Use responses to guide prompts
