Define “Temperament”
Individual differences in quality and intensity of emotional reactions
What are the 3 categories of temperament?
- Easy: positive mood, adaptable, moderate reactions, regular schedule
- Difficult: negative mood, frequently cries, resistant to change
- Slow-to-warm-up: low intensity mood, low activity level, somewhat negative
What type of infants are more prone to anxiety disorders?
High-reactive infants
Which parts of the brain are responsible for managing anxiety?
- Amygdala
- Prefrontal cortex
What is the best solution to anxiety?
Kids figuring out how to deal with anxietyt themselves is best and can lead to kids being more thoughtful, conscientious, and detail-oriented
