Introspection - Galton (1800s)
the examination or observation of one’s own mental and emotional processes.
- subjective to the individual
- some people are unable to form these images
Chronometric studies
the amount of time between the presentation of a stimulus to an individual and his or her response to that stimulus
Demand characteristics
refers to a experimental artefact where participants form an interpretation of the experiment’s purpose and adjusts their behaviour to fit that interpretation

Spatial imagery

mental spatial representation of the parts, location of the object or movements.
Aphantasia
a condition where one does not possess a functioning mind’s eye and cannot voluntarily visualise imagery
Eidetic imagery
a type of vivid mental image, not necessarily derived from an actual external event or memory

We store mental images of an object in our memory from pieces.
This is evident when we visualise more complex memories it takes us longer to piece together.
