Specific knowledge base to think critically, multiple ways of knowing, admitting what they don’t know, and acquiring knowledge to make correct decisions.
What is the Nursing Process?
A systematic process that fosters critical thinking and optimizes client care outcomes, consisting of Assessment, Nursing Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADPIE).
Nurses make choices based on:
1. Nursing process
2. CRNA standrads
3. reflection
What is the first step in the Critical Thinking Approach to Assessment?
A systematic approach of data from a variety of sources, enabling nurses to have a broader perspective.
- Ask questions, take history, blood , ask team
What types of data are collected in the assessment?
Objective Data (observable signs) so what you as a nurse obsereve like color, temperature, pain, blood pressure, heart rate
and Subjective Data (client-reported symptoms).so subjective reports like my heart is racing
What is involved in Step 2: Nursing Diagnosis?

Involves the client, prioritizing care based on the client’s changing condition.
ABC pain
what can be done first ?
priotities can alter
What happens in Step 4: Implementation?
Interventions are put into action, matching the goals of the client, including care, teaching, and preventive measures.
What is Step 5: Evaluation?
