power –> Weber
Probability that a person in a social relationship can carry out a task on their own will.
traditional authority –> power based on traditions and long established practices. ie monarchy.
Charismatic –> power based on the appeal and characteristics of the leader.
Legitimate –> power derived from legal rules.
legitimate power and justice
justice is the virtue of those in a position of power.
humane management
Respect –> Labour rights protect against human rights abuse in the supply chain.
Development –> implementing supportive training systems, to motivate.
Care –> Having concern for employee and stakeholder
virtue ethics
developed through personal experience and opinions rather than rules and regulations.
egoism
self interest is the foundation of moral action. Actions are morally right if they promote the individuals best interests.
Hobbes leviathan –> monarchy
humans are violently competitive, to prevent war and chaos it is in an individuals interest to comply with an overseeing power, sovereign.
law regulation
laws –> serve as codification into social consensus about what the society regards as right and wrong
regulation –> rules that are issued by government to constrain enable or encourage business behaviours.
imperative regulation
government regulation that is backed up by sanctioning methods
private regulation
issued by companies, sanctioning methods softer and more indirect.
liberalism
political left –> offer society the greatest equal liberty.
