- Effective strategic planning of IT requires a certain level of formalization. However, felxibility in terms of content of IT strategic plan is needed, as well as more frequent feedback sessions and assessment of IT strategic plans
- More formalization of strategic IT planning has lower effectiveness in business units with more dynamic IT strategy types, such as orientation, tension and turbulence
